Millennial Rules by MailOnline and Metro Sponsors 30 Under 30

On Monday 18th April MailOnline and Metro launched Millennial Rules, a joint research initiative on a key audience that collectively have 74% reach across their platforms. Using desk research, Pinterest, focus groups and surveying over 500 millennials, we have discovered eight traits that drive millennials, and determined nine key rules of engagement for advertisers. All our findings are available online at millennialrules.co.uk.

In light of our research it made perfect sense for Millennial Rules to be proud sponsors of Media Week’s 30 Under 30 this year, in a bid to champion those millennials who have flourished in our industry.

Mel Scott, the chief revenue officer of Mail Brands UK said: "We're passionate about developing the very best in young media industry talent so it makes total sense for us to support this year's Media Week 30 under 30 competition. It also links up nicely with a major piece of research we're doing on the millennial audience, which we'll be launching next month."

To apply for Media Week 30 under 30, send in a short video that answers the criteria and the following two questions posed by Metro and MailOnline:

  • Why should advertisers target millennials?
  • Using traditional media to advertise to millennials won’t work — true or false? Explain why.

It must be backed up by a piece of writing of no more than 400 words, which explains why you deserve to be part of the 30 under 30. You'll also need to attach a high resolution head and shoulders picture.

The 400 words should be shaped around the following factors:

  •    Your greatest achievement in the media arena
  •    An example of problem solving for one of your clients
  •    What you hope to achieve in their jobs by the end of the year
  •    What contribution you have made to the media industry

Open to anyone under the age of 30 until 13th May 2016, 30 under 30 has fast tracked promotions, boosted careers and led to new jobs for previous winners, so what are you waiting for? Enter here.

And if you needed another reason to enter, MailOnline and Metro have set two millennial posers for you; the best entries to each of their questions will win a Bose SoundTouch 30 Series III wireless music system.

Good luck.
